His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) honorary president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has welcomed the stables and jockeys ahead of the Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa Endurance Cup.
The event, sponsored by Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), Bahrain Jewellery Centre and TechnoGym, in addition to the sponsors of the current season, will kick off tomorrow at the Bahrain International Endurance Village. The veterinary examination was held by Breef yesterday.
Shaikh Nasser said that the competition will be fierce and exciting, given the distinguished level and preparations of the participants.
He commended the sponsors of the championship, hailing their role in supporting the youth and sport sectors, particularly endurance events.
Earlier, Shaikh Nasser ordered the allocation of three cars for the first three positions in the private stables race that will be held tomorrow, in addition to the allocation of cash prizes worth BD32,400 for the winning jockeys placed between fourth and 20th positions.
The championship will witness a 120km international race and a 100km local race, in addition to local qualifying races over 40 and 80 kilometres.
