A one-day Paediatric Symposium featuring more than 200 medical professionals was successfully staged at the King Hamad American Mission Hospital (KHAMH) in A’ali.
The event witnessed the participation of 10 speakers who staged panel discussions following lectures on emerging challenges and new technologies in the field of paediatric medicine.
Among the most prominent speakers was Minnesota-based Mayo Clinic Paediatric Endocrinology Division chairman and Paediatric Endocrinology Fellowship programme director Dr Seema Kumar.
Dr Kumar highlighted ways to tackle childhood obesity, manage type-1 diabetes in children and the latest technologies in diabetes management.
The symposium formed a part of the ‘Academic Workstream Assessment’ in the ongoing collaboration between KHAMH and the Mayo Clinic.
It was opened by KHAMH corporate chief executive Dr George Cheriyan, who encouraged networking, dialogue, collaboration and highlighted the benefits of being able to share medical experience.
