A proposal to grant 70 days’ paid maternity leave to pregnant women working in the private sector was presented to Parliament yesterday.
The initiative, spearheaded by five female MPs led by Hanan Fardan, seeks to amend the 2012 Private Sector Employment Law to increase paid maternity leave by 10 days, up from the existing 60 days .
