The Bahrain Tennis Federation (BTF) is hosting its first Ramadan women’s doubles championship this holy month.
The event is being organised by the BTF women’s committee and it will be held under the patronage of MP Eman Showaiter.
Matches will take place every Friday and Saturday during Ramadan at the BTF courts in Isa Town.
BTF board member and women’s committee head Jameela Al Nashaba said that matches will take place from 9.30pm each weekend, starting this Friday, to enable a large number of women to participate. Cash prizes await the winners of the tournament, Al Nashaba added.
She thanked MP Showaiter for her support and encouragement for women to engage in sports, particularly tennis.
Players wishing to register for the tournament can access the form on the link on the bio of the BTF’s Instagram page @btf_tennis. Tomorrow is the last day for registration.
