MOTORSPORT – BAHRAINI-British GT team 2 Seas Motorsport are set to compete in the 2025 British GT Championship with a two-car entry in the GT3 class.
This has been announced by the squad, who will be marking their sixth consecutive season in the highly competitive series, and the fifth time fielding two cars.
Returning as a tandem in 2 Seas’ #18 Mercedes-AMG GT3 contender are Kevin Tse and Maximillian Goetz. Joining them in the new campaign in the #42 Mercedes-AMG GT3 are Kiern Jewiss and Charles Dawson.
“The British GT grid continues to strengthen every year, and it looks like 2025 will be no exception,” said 2 Seas Motorsport co-owner Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa of Bahrain.
“I’m really pleased to welcome Kiern and Charles to the team, and to have Kevin and Max back with us for a second run at the title. I think, between them, the two line-ups will be extremely strong, and will push each other on at every event.
“Kevin and Max proved themselves as real contenders last season, so they will be hard to beat, and Kiern and Charles are a really exciting prospect now they are partnered up. It’s going to be great to watch!”
There is less than a month before the first round of the British GT’s 2025 calendar, and a media and test day is scheduled to take place on Friday.
Tse and Goetz will be gunning for the series’ GT3 Pro-Am title, having enjoyed strong results last season when they combined to secure two race wins and a pole position.
Their car this year will be sporting an exciting new livery following the sponsorship of A Bathing Ape, which has been a symbol of Japanese street fashion for more than 30 years.
“It is great to be back with the crew at 2 Seas Motorsport, and running again with Max,” said Tse, who will be entering his fifth season in the British GT.
“Last year, we showed ourselves to be a strong package, but we lacked consistency across the season. It seemed that we were all or nothing – either taking a win or not scoring any points – which is not the way to tackle a championship.
“This year, we are in a much better position in terms of preparation, including having a more focused testing programme, and the aim is to execute every weekend as we know we can. If we can do this, without any mistakes, we will be championship contenders.”
Added Goetz, who is returning for his second campaign in the series: “It really feels like home being with the team – I know all the boys, I know the car, and now I have knowledge of each of the tracks, so I am really looking forward to seeing what we can all achieve together.
“Kevin and I share the same passion for racing. We had some really strong runs last year, and we are not just there to just make up the numbers. We both want to win and, with Kevin, I think I have one of the strongest teammates possible, so a big thank you to him for trusting me again for this year.”
Jewiss and Dawson are looking forward to making an impact with the team. Jewiss is a former champion in British F4 and the Porsche Carrera Cup GB and is making his debut in the British GT, while Dawson was last season’s GT4 Pro-Am champion.
“It is going to be a new challenge, having not driven the Mercedes-AMG GT3 before and it is a new championship for me to get to grips with,” said Jewiss. “It will definitely be a learning process, and it is shaping up as an incredibly strong grid, but I can’t wait to get into it.”
Added Dawson: “Following the success in British GT, winning the GT4 Pro-Am title, it felt like the right time to step up to GT3. To be able to do so with a team like 2 Seas will be a fantastic experience.”
The 2025 British GT Championship is set to feature nine rounds, to be held across six meetings in the UK and one in Belgium. The season-opener will be on April 5 and 6 at Donington Park, and then round two will take place at Silverstone from April 25 to 27. Rounds three and four will then be held at Oulton Park over the weekend of May 23 to 26, then the series will move to Spa-Francorchamps for round five from June 20 to 22.
Snetterton will host rounds six and seven from July 11 to 13, round eight will be at Brands Hatch on August 23 and 24, and then the ninth and final round will be back at Donington Park on October 4 and 5.
The upcoming media and test day will be taking place at Silverstone.
