TABLE TENNIS – Bahrain's senior men’s table tennis national team advanced yesterday to the semi-finals of the West Asia qualifiers for the 2026 World Championships, to be held in London.
The qualifiers are taking place in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The Bahrainis secured their place in the last four after topping Group B in the preliminary round, having defeated Iraq 3-1 and overcoming Oman 3-0.
The team will next face Qatar today at Al Qadsiah Club Hall for the right to advance to the final. Only one team from these qualifiers will advance to the world championships.
Following their win yesterday, the national team were visited by Bahrain Table Tennis Association (BTTA) president Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa and BTTA vice-president Abdulali Al Madah.
