Jui Jistu – PEDRO Jesus, representing Bahrain, was declared champion of the youth men GI blue 94kg division in the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Championship after his success over Nursultan Nurgaliyev in the final.
There were 16 athletes in the division. Jesus won the opener and the quarter-final by submission, while he won the semi-final, against Talal Saeed, by 9x0 and the final by 8x0 over Nurgaliyev who hails from Kazakhstan.
This is the first time that the Brazilian national is representing Bahrain where he enjoys the number one slot.
Jesus is also the number 10 player in Asia.
