CHESS – INDIAN School Bahrain’s (ISB) class 8 student Dhruvi Panigrahi clinched the gold medal in the Under 12-14 (Girls) Intermediate category at the Khalid Bin Hamad Chess Championship.
The prestigious event was organised by the Education Ministry at the Shaikh Khalifa Stadium, Isa Town.
Dhruvi demonstrated exceptional strategic skills and focus to achieve the remarkable feat by winning all the matches in her category.
She was coached by physical education teacher Saikat Sarkar. ISB chairman Binu Mannil Varughese, secretary V Rajapandian, executive committee members, principal VR Palaniswamy and physical education HoD Sridhar Siva extended their heartfelt congratulations to Panigrahi and commended her achievement.
