Several states across India have recorded a surge in COVID-19 cases. Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Delhi have reported a sudden surge in positive cases, although health officials say most cases are mild and manageable.
According to Health and Family Welfare Ministry data, the largest uptick in cases was seen in Kerala. Between May 12 and May 19, Kerala recorded 69 new COVID-19 cases.
Despite the increase, health experts maintain that there is no cause for alarm.
