THE Foreign Ministry hosted a sports day in collaboration with the embassies of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) member states.
The event was attended by the ministry’s political affairs undersecretary Ambassador Khalid Yousif Al Jalahma.
This initiative supports diplomacy and strengthens human and cultural connections between countries, helping to build stronger political, economic, and social ties with partner nations.
Ambassador Al Jalahma highlighted that organising the event reflects the ministry’s ongoing work to encourage international co-operation. He said that sport helps bring people together, increases mutual understanding, and supports official diplomatic efforts to achieve sustainable development goals and regional peace.
Relations between Bahrain and Asean countries continue to grow, with productive cooperation in many areas as both sides are committed to strengthening partnerships, supporting shared interests, and working for prosperity and development.
On her part, Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain Anne Jalando-on Louis highlighted the kingdom’s interest in enhancing cooperation and partnership with Asean, and for its support for the activities of the diplomatic and consular missions accredited in Manama.
