HIS Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa received Moritz Furste, Olympic hockey champion and co-founder of Hyrox, an indoor fitness competition.
Bahrain Olympic Committee secretary general Faris Al Kooheji attended the meeting.
Shaikh Nasser commended Furste’s athletic career, which includes multiple Olympic medals and international titles.
Their discussions centred around bringing the Hyrox fitness race to Bahrain, reflecting the kingdom’s growing status as a regional destination for competitive sports.
Shaikh Nasser highlighted Bahrain’s success in hosting high-profile endurance events, including Bahrain’s Strongest Man and the GCC Strongest Man competitions, which have helped showcase local talent on the global stage.
Furste welcomed collaboration with Bahrain on future initiatives. He commended Shaikh Nasser’s leadership in promoting youth engagement in sports and advancing Bahrain’s presence on the international athletic scene.
