FOOTBALL – THE battles resume this evening in the play-off competition for two spots in next year’s Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League.
Bahrain Club and A’ali face off at Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Isa Town as they continue their quest to keep their places in the kingdom’s top-tier football tournament and avoid relegation.
Meanwhile, Al Hala and Isa Town clash at Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium in Arad as they hope to join second division sides Budaiya and Hidd in gaining promotion to the premier league.
Both of tonight’s matches are scheduled for simultaneous 7pm kick-offs.
All four teams are currently tied with a point apiece on the play-off table, with Bahrain Club and Hala drawing 1-1 in their opening fixture last week and A’ali being held by Isa Town to a goalless stalemate.
The concluding matches of these play-offs will be held on Monday next week, with A’ali taking on Hala at the National Stadium in Riffa and Bahrain Club facing Isa Town at the Khalifa Sports City Stadium.
