HORSERACING – RASHID Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) announced yesterday that it has signed a new gold sponsorship agreement with leading global investment management and strategic advisory firm Brown Advisory in support of the Bahrain International Trophy.
The agreement was established under the leadership of REHC High Committee chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and it was signed in the presence of REHC CEO Yusuf Buheji and Brown Advisory partner and senior advisor Craig Fravel during the club’s visit to the UK for the opening day of the Newmarket July Festival, where Bahrain sponsors all three Group races on the card.
REHC business development and strategic partnerships chief Fatema Albalooshi and Brown Advisory Middle East head Jack Weatherby signed the agreement.
As part of the deal, Brown Advisory becomes a partner of the Bahrain International Trophy for the next three seasons, beginning with the 2025-26 running of the $1million Group Two contest.
Welcoming the club’s new sponsor, Buheji said: “We are delighted to welcome Brown Advisory as a new partner of the Bahrain International Trophy. Their decision to support this flagship international race reflects the growing strength and appeal of Bahrain’s racing product and our ambition to continue developing the sport on a global stage.
“This new agreement not only strengthens our sponsorship portfolio but opens the door to broader collaboration in the years ahead, as we continue to build a world-class calendar of racing in the kingdom.”
Fravel commented: “It is a privilege for Brown Advisory to become a sponsor of the Bahrain International Trophy, which has quickly earned a reputation as a high-calibre international event. We look forward to being part of its continued success and to deepening our engagement in the region.”
Weatherby added: “Our firm has long believed in the value of partnering with exceptional sporting properties, and this sponsorship aligns with our broader commitment to building lasting connections with groups that reflect our values in supporting the equine community. Bahrain’s growing presence in international racing makes this a natural and exciting opportunity for us.”
