CRICKET – ALUMINIUM Bahrain (Alba), the world’s largest aluminium smelter on one site, welcomed a distinguished delegation of 24 elite cricket coaches as part of the ICC Global Level 3 Coaching Course, hosted in Bahrain under the General Sports Authority (GSA) by the Bahrain Cricket Federation (BCF).
This historic course, held for the first time in the kingdom, brought together master educators and coaches representing more than 20 countries, solidifying Bahrain’s growing stature as a global hub for sports education and development.
The visiting delegation was led by BCF advisory board chairman Mohammed Mansoor, and was received by Alba chief executive Ali Al Baqali along with senior executive leadership, including chief operating officer Abdulla Habib, chief power officer Amin Sultan, administration director Hamad Al Shaibah, and PR manager Abdulla Seyadee.
During the session, Alba officials presented the company’s story of resilience, national economic contribution, and organisational culture grounded in the core values of teamwork, leadership, mentorship, and safety – values that resonate strongly with the principles of elite-level cricket coaching. Notably, Alba’s record of more than 36 million work hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI) was shared as a powerful symbol of discipline and collective focus, drawing meaningful parallels to cricket’s demands for strategic execution and sustained performance.
The visit included insights into Alba’s operational excellence and a guided plant tour, providing a unique opportunity for the coaching delegation to witness firsthand how corporate resilience and team dynamics can mirror and inspire high-performance sporting environments.
Also present at the visit were ICC master educator Prachur Shukla and ICC education manager Abhishek Shekhawat, who expressed their appreciation to Alba for its warm hospitality and visionary leadership in connecting Bahrain’s industrial and sporting excellence.
The visit not only highlighted Bahrain’s capability to host world-class cricket education programmes, but also showcased the nation’s broader commitment to integrating sports, industry, and education for collective growth.
