Police officers in the Philippines have been given one year to lose weight or face being dismissed from their jobs.
Philippine National Police Chief Nicholas Torre III issued a stern warning, emphasising its seriousness.
“After one year, there will be a separation from the service,” said Torre.
According to the Department of the Interior and Local Government Act, police officers must weigh within five kilogrammes of the standard weight for their height, age, and sex.
