For Bahraini Eman Osama Ali, volunteering at World Expo 2025’s Bahrain Pavilion in Osaka was an opportunity not just to advance her Japanese speaking skills, but also to become a cultural ambassador and help deepen visitors’ understanding of Bahrain, its culture and its people.
In the pavilion, themed ‘Connecting Seas’, Ms Ali became a linguistic chameleon, effortlessly switching between Arabic, English and Japanese, at times even translating in real time during high-level diplomatic visits .
