MOTORSPORT – THE Bahrain Motor Federation (BMF) held the second week of its annual summer camp for youth last weekend.
The programme featured a lecture on the safe and proper methods in the rescue and extrication of drivers from their cars during races and other related matters.
The participants learned about the most important tasks of the relevant team members and how they communicate with one another along with the safety and security team, medical team, and others present during events.
The youngsters also visited the off-road track at Bahrain International Circuit, where they learned about the unique facility, and then went on a field trip to the General Directorate of Civil Defence, where they were given an introduction to their various roles during the Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
A practical demonstration was also done on how to extinguish a fire as well as how to properly use a water pump or conventional fire extinguishers.
The BMF summer camp continues this weekend with another series of lectures and activities.
