A Filipina air hostess who was employed with Saudi Arabia’s official airlines Saudia was buried in her flight uniform in the Philippines.
This was in accordance with her dying wish.
The stewardess, Joy Fernandis, died of leukemia.
According to a Saudia official, Joy had requested her family to bury her in the Saudia uniform because she loved her job with the airline.
The incident was reported in the Arabic daily 'Ajel'. The report said that Saudia’s assistant general manager for public relations Abdul Rahman Al Fahd's saluted Joy's loyalty on twitter as he bid her farewell.
This is what he had to say: “Goodbye Joy."
"Joy died of leukemia. Before her death, she asked her family to bury her in the Saudia uniform because she loved her job. This is very impressive loyalty.”
