Riyadh: A prank call made by a Saudi teenager to his friend has landed him in court.
According to Saudi daily Okaz's report, the teenager downloaded a mobile application that changes your voice as well you phone number when you make a call.
He reportedly called a Yemeni expat and told him that he has been chosen to play a role in a suicide attack which was scheduled to take place at a local mosque on the third day of Eid.
The shocked expatriate contacted the police and provided them information about the call he had received.
However, the expat was later contacted by the teenager’s father asking him to ignore his son’s phone call as a prank.
He explained to him how his son used the voice changing application to change his voice and his mobile number.
The teenager confirmed that he had used his father’s mobile to download the application and the suicide attack call was a joke.
However, the public prosecutors pressed charges against the teenager for frightening people and disturbing the security forces due to his prank.
