Kuwait City - Authorities in Kuwait have reported an unprecedented rise in the rate of cyber crimes, increasing by more than 50% in the country.
According to the latest statistics, the number of cyber crimes soared to 2150 cases over the first ten months of 2018.
The General Directorate of Cyber Crimes, an offshoot of the General Directorate for Criminal Investigation, reported 980 online crimes last year (2017).
The list included blackmailing, defamation, insults, piracy, impersonation, harassment, intolerance and other violations punishable by law on combating cyber crimes.
