Mecca – Torrential rain and thunderstorms hit the province of Mecca this morning, disrupting the movement of the traffic to a standstill.
Video recordings posted on social media websites showed rainwater flooding avenues and streets in various parts of the city.
The Civil Defence General Directorate implemented the emergency contingency and rescued cars and vehicles which were trapped in flooding water.
Meanwhile, the King Abdulaziz International Airport issued a statement announcing the resumption of flights, which were suspended early this morning due to thundery rain storms.
