Supreme Council for Youth and Sport First Deputy Chairman and Bahrain Athletics Association President Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa has arrived in Las Vegas to attend the UFC-TUF 22 Championship to be held on Friday at Chelsea Hall in Cosmopolitan Nevada Hotel.
Shaikh Khalid will supports professional fighter and member of Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Mixed Martial Arts (KHK MMA) Team Frankie Edgar, who will be competing against US fighter Chad Mendes in the main event.
Shaikh Khalid was received upon arrival at LV Airport by several members of Bahrain’s embassy in the United States. He expressed gratitude and appreciation to UFC President Dana White and CEO Lorenzo Fertitta for their huge support to mixed martial arts which reflects the organisation’s successful development as a global sport.
Shaikh Khalid affirmed that Bahrain’s success in international sports has boosted the kingdom’s position in the world scene and has promoted its advancement and development in the youth and sports sector under the prosperous reign of His Majesty King Hamad.
Later, Shaikh Khalid watched Edgar’s training session. Edgar praised the efforts of Shaikh Khalid in the development of sports in Bahrain.
