Riyadh: Once dubbed the world's heaviest teenager, Khaled Mohsen Al Shaeri has lost over 320 kilograms following an intensive hospital fitness routine.
In a YouTube video, the Saudi Arabian man, 24, is shown walking for the first time using a Zimmer frame.
According to doctors at the King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh, he weighed an incredible 610kg at his heaviest when he was brought to the hospital. A special crane was ordered from the US to lift him from his residence to the hospital.
The incredible milestone was achieved following strict fitness and dietary routine observed by doctors.
Doctors say he is still on a health programme to lose more weight, reported English Mail Online.
Shaeri is well on his way to earning a world record for the largest-ever weight loss.
He was also the face of an anti-obesity campaign in Saudi Arabia.
Late King Abdullah had recommended the young man’s treatment in 2013.
