Riyadh: A magnitude 4.5 earthquake on the Richter Scale struck the region of Tabuk at 4.46 am Mecca time, the Saudi Geological Survey said.
The tremor which lasted for a few seconds was felt by the inhabitants of Tabuk, Haql, Al-Bidaa, the centre of Bir Bin Hermas and the Aqaba Gulf region.
The British CSEM EMSC seismological site announced that a 4.8 earthquake on the Richter scale hit Egypt, 8 kilometres from Nuwaibi city on the Red Sea and it was felt in Cairo, Gizah and other governorates in Egypt, reported by Sabq.
Egypt Institute of Astrological and Geophysics Studies President Dr. Hatem Ouda said that the epicenter of the light tremor is the same as the magnitude 7.3 earthquake which devastated Egypt in 1995 and was felt then in Lebanon, Syria and Cyprus.
