New rules proposed for delivery riders
The bikes are not the problem!
@emmalouwalsh1989
Sure, let’s blame them because the drivers overall in Bahrain are so careful with children roaming around in the car without belts and no driving courtesy! But the ones that usually end up dead are the ones to blame.
@mrnobody079
So, in order to solve the problem of dangerous and incompetent drivers killing delivery drivers in Bahrain, let’s allow them to continue to drive recklessly but severely restrict the delivery drivers from the roads. They can’t kill them if we take them off the roads, right?
It’s like letting murderers roam free and telling citizens to stay home and only leave their home at certain times in order to avoid being murdered.
Completely moronic and delusional logic. This will not solve such a deep-rooted issue. Scapegoating expat delivery drivers and protecting the abhorrent drivers and driving culture that exists in Bahrain.
@pjbyrne92
Would be interested to see the statistics of causes of accidents and how they relate to motorcycles and delivery bikes in particular.
@krolag7778
Best action. These delivery drivers have no regard for other vehicles and their own safety.
@inassirisworld
The wrong people are being blamed. What about the fast drivers? People who complain if the delivery is late?
@zunins
Why not require dashcams on their bikes that are reviewed by the delivery companies for reckless driving and oversight by the Traffic directorate?
@sulaimanaljanahi
Instead of imposing new rules on delivery riders, why not be more strict with how they use the road? Ticket them instead.
@nickjaug
This proposal seems to be suggesting that the delivery riders are the main cause of road traffic accidents in Bahrain, which is not true. Please show us the statistics. It’s so easy to make them the scapegoats. Okay go ahead with the proposals and let’s see the data in accident reduction after a few months. There are many issues to fix, the driving and texting, speeding and just randomly switching lanes and no indicator, kids hanging through windows and driving in front seats and not a car seat. I think the powers that be know the real problems but afraid to call them out. Time will tell.
