Riyadh: Twenty-five people were stuck in an Al-Hada Al-Taif cable car after it suffered a breakdown for 45 minutes last evening due to a technical problem which hit six cabins.
Initial investigation revealed that the cable car broke down because of an overload.
Civil Defence General Directorate official spokesman Colonel Nasser bin Sultan Al-Sharif said that all passengers were safe.
The rescue teams dealt with the emergency promptly to ensure that all passengers were safe. A citizen spotted the incident and alerted the relevant authorities.
