Oil and Environment Minister and special envoy for climate affairs Dr Mohammed bin Daina has stressed the importance of continuing to hold specialised conferences that contribute to promoting the development of various sectors in the kingdom.
These conferences provide platforms for exchanging expertise and experiences among participants from different countries, in a way that paves the way for proposing solutions and constructive ideas that serve common aspirations, he said.
Dr Bin Daina made the statements while opening the ninth Middle East Bottom of the Barrel and Catalyst Technology Conference (BBTC MENA 2023).
Organised by the Euro Petroleum Consultants company in co-operation with the Oil and Environment Ministry and with the support of a number of companies specialised in this vital sector, the two-day conference brings together senior officials of oil companies, experts, engineers and specialists in oil industries from around the world.
It aims to help Middle East refiners address the challenges and identify the opportunities as they aim to achieve higher levels of productivity, competitiveness, resilience and profitability through upgrading heavier lower value components and increasing conversion to curb low-value fuel oil production.
The event provides an opportunity for the participants to explore the best strategies and solutions for increasing conversion, improving and diversifying products, further integration with petrochemicals, reducing emissions and increasing margins.
BBTC MENA 2023 focuses on catalysts, which play a central role in reaching the forecast objectives, including making the right selection in terms of catalyst management, waste management, and different recovery and regeneration techniques to identify the best operational strategy for the future.
