Adel El Labban has decided to step down as group chief executive of Ahli United Bank (AUB), after two decades at the helm.
Mr El Labban is credited with the creation of Ahli United Bank as it is known today, as he contributed to the efforts that led to the merger between United Bank of Kuwait (UBK) and Al-Ahli Commercial Bank (ACB), resulting in the emergence of Ahli United Bank in the year 2000, and was fully involved in all its subsequent acquisition deals .
