EXPORT Bahrain has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Russian Export Centre JSC during the 28th edition of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2025), which concludes today.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Industry and Commerce Minister and Export Bahrain chairman Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro alongside senior officials and dignitaries from both countries.
The agreement was formalised by Export Bahrain chief executive Safa Abdulkhaliq and Russian Export Centre CEO Veronika Nikishina - signaling a shared commitment to strengthening bilateral economic collaboration.
The high-level MoU establishes a comprehensive framework for cooperation across a number of strategic areas aimed at boosting trade and investment between Bahrain and Russia. Key areas of collaboration include facilitating the internationalisation of Bahraini and Russian products and services, promoting reciprocal market access, and exchanging critical knowledge on business environments, regulatory systems, and investment opportunities.
The agreement also supports joint participation in international exhibitions, trade forums, and economic conferences, along with coordinated promotional efforts and initiatives to explore and penetrate high-potential third markets.
The milestone partnership reflects the mutual ambition of both institutions to deepen commercial ties, stimulate sustainable trade flows, and unlock new growth avenues for exporters. It underscores Export Bahrain’s broader strategic objective of expanding its global footprint and reinforcing Bahrain’s position as a dynamic hub for international trade.
The MoU serves as a platform to accelerate cross-border collaboration and drive forward joint initiatives that will elevate the global competitiveness of Bahraini enterprises particularly within the Russian market, which holds significant promise for growth and diversification.
Meanwhile, Bahrain and Russia signed MoUs between their respective ministries of industry and commerce to cooperate in fuel and energy sector technologies and equipment.
The MoUs aim to strengthen collaboration in these areas based on principles of equality and mutual benefit.
