THE Royal Endurance Team, supported by His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and team captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, was yesterday officially crowned champion of the FEI Endurance World Championship for Young Riders and Juniors in the team category, held in Castelsagrat, France.
The FEI and the organising committee held a special ceremony to honour and crown the Royal Endurance Team as world champions. The team consisted of Isa Hameed Al Anzi and Hassan Al Rowaiee from Team Victorious, Sultan Abdulaziz Al Rumaihi and Jaber Badr Jaafar from the Al Zaeem Team, and Hamad Ali Hassan from the Al Nassr Team, while France and Italy came in second and third places, respectively, in the team category.
Al Anzi was also awarded the bronze medal after finishing third in the individual category. UAE riders came in first and second in this category.
The Royal Endurance Team added another achievement with with Armin d’Artagnan winning the award for the best horse that finishes the race in good health. It was ridden by Al Anzi to third place.
The championship witnessed the participation of 70 male and female riders from various countries.
