TEN sets of twins are studying at the Zallaq Primary and Intermediate School for Girls – though not in the same classroom.
The Education Ministry said this was the first-ever such case in government schools.
The 20 students have now been enrolled in a special ‘twins’ programme that would see them working on joint educational projects and schemes, said the ministry.
The school’s assistant principal and programme founder, launcher and supervisor Nahed Bushaer said having the twins in the school gave rise to many ideas for innovative edutainment initiatives.
“We have the twins enrolled in calligraphy, drawing and painting, reading, sewing and embroidery, gymnastics, track and field, and information technology,” she added.
“The students are also leaders in many campaigns in and out of the school as our ambassadors.
“Their role will expand as we further take up the ‘twins’ programme to bigger heights.”
