BADMINTON - OASIS Badminton Academy, captained by Mohammed Ashik, were the level one winners in the JTJ Trading-Bahrain National Day Relay Badminton Team Championship 2024, organised by the Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation. Matches were played in four levels, with teams consisting of 10 players each.
A total of 26 squads took part. They played three men’s doubles, one mixed doubles, and one singles match in each of the ties.
Oasis took the level one winners’ trophy ahead of runners-up 2RSA Academy, captained by Togy Mathew.
NEC Remit, skippered by Ajish Simon, won level two with Power Smashers, captained by Pradeep, finishing in second place; while 8PM Shuttlers, captained by Midhun Edathadan, took level three ahead of Acers, captained by Archana Khanganwal.
The Indian Club were the winners in the veterans’ category, skippered by Jain NS. BKS finished as runners-up, with Dr Bijosh as the team captain.
The championship’s title sponsor was JTJ Trading and Contracting, while the main sponsor was Security 1.
