CRICKET – DHL emerged winners in a nail-biting finale of the Khalid Bin Hamad Corporate T20 Cricket League 2025.
DHL chased down a target of 120 runs with 10 balls to spare, defeating Panthers Bahrain CC by three wickets in a contest that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
Panthers, who won the toss and elected to bat, posted a total of 119/. Their top performers were Irfan Azhar (29 off 25 balls), who provided a fiery start with three fours and a six, and Ashfaq Faraz (22 off 28), who anchored the middle overs.
DHL bowler Muhammad Ayaz Taj (3/12 in 4 overs) destroyed Panthers’ batting along with Muhammad Maherbaan (3/38), who cleared the tail with precision.
Panthers collapsed from 58/1 to 108/8, losing seven wickets for just 50 runs.
In the chase, DHL held their nerve as Imran Anwar (35 off 35) steered the innings with four fours and a six. Abdul Ghafar (23* off 21) and Sarwar Manzoor (16* off 17) sealed the win with an unbroken 29-run stand.
Rizwan Malik (3/23 in 4 overs) made crucial breakthroughs for Panthers, including the wickets of Imran Anwar and Ashfaq Faraz (2/23) to keep DHL in check during the middle overs.
DHL recovered from 93/7 to chase down the target comfortably, thanks to Ghafar and Manzoor’s composure.
