Mirwais Azizi, chairman and founder of the Azizi group, donated AED3 billion (BD300 million) in memory of his late daughter, Farishta Azizi, who died after dealing with an aggressive form of cancer.
The amount was donated to the Fathers Endowment campaign, launched by the ruler of Dubai on February 21. The campaign is dedicated to providing healthcare to those who cannot afford it.
The donation will be used to build a non-profit hospital in Dubai that offers cancer patients free and affordable healthcare. Construction will start this year.
“We were lucky enough to be able to give her the best medical care we could, But we know not everyone is able to afford to do that. So, we hope this donation will help those who need it the most,” said Azizi
He added, “People in the UAE will not have to go to Europe or any other place to get the best cancer treatment.“
