The event is officially sanctioned and supported by the Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation (BBSF).
The ISB is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a wide range of events. The open tournament is set to welcome players of all ages from across the GCC, and it offers a platform for budding and experienced shuttlers to showcase their talent in a professionally organised setting.
The tournament includes boys’ and girls’ singles and doubles events in the under-9, under-11, under-13, under-15, under-17, and under-19 categories.
There are also men’s doubles (elite, championship, and F1 to F5 levels), women’s doubles (Levels one and two), and mixed doubles (Level C, one and two). Matches will be played in a knockout format, strictly following Badminton World Federation rules and regulations.
The event’s organising team includes hon vice-chairman and hon member-sports Dr Mohammed Faizal, co-ordinator Binoj Mathew, and general convener Adil Ahmed, with advisory support from former EC member-sports Rajesh MN.
The tournament is being organised by the ISB, under the able leadership of tournament director Binu Pappachan and tournament referee Shanil Abdul Rahim.
Players must be valid GCC residents, and each participant may enter multiple events. However, they must be prepared to play according to the published schedule, including back-to-back matches, if necessary.
A minimum of eight entries per category is required for each class; otherwise, it may be merged with a higher category or cancelled.
