His Majesty King Hamad yesterday received Cyprus Foreign Minister Dr Constantinos Kombos at Al Safriya Palace, during his visit to Bahrain.
His Majesty commended the close bilateral relations, highlighting their continued development and growth across various fields.
Dr. Kombos conveyed the greetings and best wishes of President Nikos Christodoulides of Cyprus to His Majesty and the people of Bahrain, wishing the kingdom further progress and prosperity.
In return, His Majesty relayed his greetings and best wishes to the President and the people of Cyprus for continued growth and success.
His Majesty and the Cypriot Foreign Minister discussed means to strengthen and expand the long-standing relations between the two countries, particularly in economic, commercial and investment sectors.
The King emphasised the importance of such visits in reflecting the mutual keenness to advance co-operation and explore broader prospects for partnership in support of shared interests.
The meeting also addressed current regional and international issues of common concern.
Dr Kombos expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty for the warm welcome and hospitality, commending his efforts to strengthen the historical ties between Bahrain and Cyprus.
Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani separately held talks with Dr Kombos and commended the historical ties between the two countries.
He emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to explore opportunities to enhance ties in political, economic, commercial and development sectors.
They discussed regional and international developments, including conflicts threatening regional security and stability.
They also discussed Arab and international efforts to de-escalate, maintain the ceasefire in Gaza throughout all its phases, facilitate the release of hostages and detainees, ensure the delivery of unimpeded humanitarian aid to civilians, and support efforts towards achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.
Dr Kombos also visited the Mohammed Bin Mubarak Academy for Diplomatic Studies.
