FOOTBALL – JOVAN Marinkovic netted the winner as Al Khaldiya defeated Bahrain Club 2-1 in the 19th round of the Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier League last night.
Joel Vinicus put Bahrain Club ahead in the 40th minute through a penalty conversion, but Khaldiya were quick to respond as Mohamed Al Romaihi scored in the next minute to draw level.
The second half saw an intense battle for supremacy and Khaldiya prevailed when Marinkovic found the net in the 72nd minute.
Meanwhile, Abdulwasea Al Matari scored in the 76th minute to help Sitra edged past Malkiya 1-0 in their 19th-round match.
In the third game of the night, Al Shabab and Manama played out a 1-1 draw.
The 19th-round matches continue tonight when Muharraq face Riffa, Al Najma take on A’ali and East Riffa clash with Al Ahli. All the matches are scheduled to kick off at 7pm.
