Several runaway domestic workers have been arrested for residency and labour violations, the Interior Ministry announced yesterday.
The Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), in co-operation with the Verdict Enforcement Directorate at the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, said that following multiple reported cases, an investigation was launched that led to the arrest of the undocumented housemaids and an individual who assisted them in working illegally on an hourly basis in households .
