CRICKET – UNITED Challengers Bahrain (UCB) secured a convincing 33-run victory over Youth XI in a thrilling T20 encounter in the Khalid Bin Hamad Cricket League (Division B).
UCB posted a competitive 135 for eight in their 20 overs, led by a blistering 41 off 18 balls by Usman Anwar, including six fours and two sixes.
Contributions from Vishnu Pandey (15), Mohammad Arslan (12), and a late surge by Satveer Singh (19) helped set a challenging target.
For Youth XI, Asim Malik (3/19) and Wahidkhan Deshmukh (2/21) were the standout bowlers, while Haksar Hakkim (1/16) kept things tight.
In reply, Youth XI struggled against UCB’s disciplined bowling, collapsing to 102 all out in 18.3 overs.
Deshmukh (31) and Khaja Khan (17) offered resistance, but Rajesh Kumar (3/19) and Abhijith Har (2/29) ensured regular breakthroughs.
Mohammed Jamshaid (1/13) and Hari Bhandari (1/13) also played key roles, while three run-outs added to Youth XI’s woes.
The quick dismissals of Anwar and Deshmukh shifted momentum in the contest, but UCB’s depth proved decisive.
