MOTORSPORT – CADILLAC Hertz Team Jota secured a front-row lockout for this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours, set to get underway today at Circuit de la Sarthe in France.
The event marks the fourth round of the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season. Cadillac’s #12 crew of Alex Lynn, Norman Nato, and Will Stevens secured overall pole position in their Cadillac V-Series.R Hypercar with a fastest time of three minutes 23.166 seconds during the meeting’s second Hyperpole session, which determined the top 10 for each of the race’s three categories, namey Hypercar, LMP2, and LMGT3.
Their teammates Earl Bamber, Sebastien Bourdais, and Jenson Button in Cadillac’s #38 challenger joined them on row one with a best time of 3:23.333 – just 0.167s off the pace.
Qualifying in third were Porsche Penske Motorsport’s #5 trio of Julien Andlauer, Michael Christensen, and Mathieu Jaminet, while BMW M Team WRT’s #15 crew of Dries Vanthoor, Raffaele Marciello, and Kevin Magnussen will start from fourth overall on the grid.
Porsche Penske Motorsport’s #4 crew are set to start from fifth, while from sixth through 10th on the grid, respectively, are the BMW M Team WRT #20 car, Ferrari AF Corse’s #50, Cadillac Whelen’s #311, Alpine Endurance Team’s #36, and Toyota Gazoo Racing’s #8 challenger.
Meanwhile, starting from pole in the LMP2 class will be TDS Racing’s #29 Rodrigo Sales, Mathias Beche, and Clement Novalak, who clocked a 3:35.062 best time in their Oreca 07-Gibson car; while in the leading grid position amongst the LMGT3 contenders are the #27 Heart of Racing Team crew of Ian James, Mattia Drudi, and Zacharie Robichon with a 3:52.789 lap in their Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3.
Today’s Le Mans 24 Hours is scheduled for a 5pm start, Bahrain time.
