A man who set out to walk all the way around the world has achieved a major milestone in his journey.
Karl Bushby, aged 56, set out in 1998 to walk all the way from Chile to the UK in a journey that was meant to last eight years but remains ongoing.
Bushby set two rules for himself throughout the journey: He cannot use any form of transportation and is not allowed to go home until he has finished.
During his arduous trek he crossed the dangerous Darien Gap between Colombia and Panama, became the first man to walk from America to Russia on the frozen Bering Strait and swam across the Caspian sea.
Four days ago Bushby entered the home stretch of the 27-year-long journey by finally reaching Europe through Turkey.
He still is at least a year away from reaching the English Channel where he’s set to face another big challenge.
Bushby is currently in Mexico waiting for a visa to complete his challenge.
