VOLLEYBALL – Bahrain have been drawn in a tough Pool B for the 17th edition of the Arab Junior Volleyball Championship, taking place next month.
The under-18 competition will be held in Amman, Jordan, from August 14 to 26.
Ten teams from across the region are taking place. The Bahrainis are in their preliminary round group alongside Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Iraq, and Kuwait; while Pool B includes the UAE, Lebanon, Libya, Egypt, and hosts Jordan.
The official draw was held at the Bahrain Volleyball Association (BVA) headquarters at Isa Bin Rashid Arena, located at Isa Sports City in Riffa. It was presided over by BVA secretary general Feras Al Helwachi, who is also the Arab Volleyball Association (AVA) secretary general. A number of representatives from the participating teams were on hand, with others attending virtually.
The kingdom’s junior national team recently completed an overseas training camp in Egypt in preparation for the Arab tournament. They played a number of friendly games during their stay.
