BOWLING – Bahrain’s junior bowling national team have departed for the Qatari capital Doha to participate in the 24th Asian Junior Tenpin Bowling Championship.
Four of the kingdom’s most talented young players are set to compete in the event, including Rashed Abdullatif Al Dulhan, Abdulkarim Mohammed Al Jahromi, Faisal Bader, and Ali Ahmed Aqeel.
They are to be guided by national team coach Mohammed Janahi, while the Bahraini delegation is headed by Bahrain Bowling Association secretary general Issa Taqi.
The championship kicks off this evening with the opening ceremony and official practices.
The boys’ singles competition will take place on Monday, while the doubles will be held on Tuesday. The teams of four will then be held on Wednesday and Thursday, while the masters will be held on Friday and Saturday.
Bahrain are one of 11 national teams taking part in the Asian Bowling Federation (ABF) event. The others are China, Hong Kong, India, Kuwait, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Vietnam, and hosts Qatar.
There are a total of 79 players in the fray – 59 boys and 20 girls.
