MMA – THE rivalry between two of BRAVE Combat Federation’s biggest names may be heating up once again.
In his latest social media video post, reigning light heavyweight champion Erko Jun is seen staring intensely at a poster of his first fight with Mohammad Fakhreddine at BRAVE CF 96, declaring: “This is my motivation. Let’s run it back.”
It’s a clear and direct callout aimed at the only man who’s beaten Jun under the BRAVE banner.
Their previous clash was one of the most high-stakes matchups in BRAVE history. Jun, already the light heavyweight champion, moved down to middleweight to try and capture a second belt – one of two titles vacated by Fakhreddine during his first exit from the organisation.
But in front of a packed crowd in Ljubljana, Fakhreddine returned with a vengeance, delivering a thunderous first-round knockout to deny Jun the rare feat of becoming a simultaneous two-division champion – something only Fakhreddine himself had accomplished in BRAVE CF history. Now, with unfinished business between them, Jun wants another shot. The timing is no coincidence. The middleweight and light heavyweight divisions are quickly becoming the hottest in the promotion, especially with Said Maalem – a fighter who has history with both men – also recently calling out Fakhreddine after his majority draw against Kaloyan Kolev in Bulgaria at BRAVE CF 97.
While Jun has made his intentions clear, Fakhreddine is yet to respond. Fans are now left wondering: Will the rematch happen? And if so, will it be contested at middleweight or light heavyweight? With BRAVE CF 100 on the horizon in what’s being dubbed ‘The Year of the BRAVE’, the stage could not be more perfectly set for a blockbuster rematch between two of the promotion’s biggest stars.
