Doctors at King Hamad American Mission Hospital (KHAMH) have successfully carried out a first-of-its-kind operation on a Bahraini man to remove a tumour located in the upper part of his stomach.
The surgical team, led by senior consultant-in-general, oncology and advanced laparoscopic surgery, Dr Hani Alsaati performed the laparoscopy, which is a minimally invasive procedure involving inserting a thin tube with a light and camera through small incisions .
