The technical committee of the third edition of the Asian Youth Games, set to take place in Bahrain from October 22 to 31, has confirmed the age categories for each sport, aligned with the regulations set by the Olympic Council of Asia, ensuring a fair and competitive field for athletes aged 14 to 18.
The Asian Youth Games 2025 promises to be a significant platform for showcasing talent and discovering new athletes.
More than 5,000 young athletes will compete in 24 sports, not only vying for colourful medals but also enhancing their skills and opportunities for the upcoming Youth Olympics in Dakar, Senegal, in 2026.
The qualification criteria for the Youth Olympics are established by international sports federations, making the Asian event crucial for young competitors aiming to meet those standards.
Additionally, Bahrain is poised to be the launchpad for developing future champions in Asia, with an eye on the upcoming Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
