A thief made a dramatic escape attempt in Cairo on Tuesday after failing to rob a high-rise apartment, clinging to windows and air conditioning units in an effort to evade capture.
A dramatic scene unfolded in Egypt when a thief climbed a residential building intending to rob an apartment, only to be discovered by residents. In the chaos that followed, he fell from the 10th floor to the 9th floor.

Widely circulated footage showed the suspect scaling the building’s exterior, gripping onto air conditioning units and narrowly avoiding a fall on several occasions. The spectacle caused significant alarm among residents, many of whom were awoken by the clamour.
The video captured residents shouting at the man, urging him to stop his dangerous descent and enter an apartment to avoid falling to his death. He eventually managed to break into a flat through a window and reportedly eluded the residents initially. However, his escape was short-lived.
Despite his daring attempts to flee, authorities arrested the suspect shortly after residents reported the break-in. The Egyptian Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday that the man has been referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.
