Parliament Speaker Ahmed Al Musallam congratulated Dr Khalida Boufedech on her election as Speaker of the National People’s Assembly of Algeria.
Mr Al Musallam commended Dr Boufedech’s parliamentary experience and distinguished public service, emphasising his keenness to further develop co-operation between Bahrain and Algeria in support of shared aspirations and objectives, and to strengthen co-ordination in regional and international parliamentary forums.
He wished Dr Boufedech success in her duties and continued progress and prosperity for Algeria and its people.
Shura Coincil chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh also congratulated Dr Boufedech on her election after securing the confidence of the majority of members, becoming the first woman to lead the assembly since its establishment in 1977.
The Chairman commended Dr Boufedech’s distinguished professional and national career, her parliamentary experience and competence, and her continued commitment to supporting progress and development in Algeria.
He wished Dr Boufedech continued success in her duties and responsibilities, and Algeria and its people further progress, prosperity and achievements.
