HIGHER electricity rates have contributed to increased energy conservation in the last year, according to a senior government official.
People are using electrical appliances more efficiently since electricity and water rates were revised in March last year and will continue to increase annually until 2019, as part of austerity measures adopted by the government to offset the drop in oil prices .
