A ban on outdoor midday work under scorching heat took effect across Saudi Arabia.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Development announced the implementation of preventive the three-month measure, which will run from June 15 until September 15, SPAN reported.
Under the ban, outdoor work would be banned from midday until 3 pm to ensure labourers’ security and safety, said a statement posted on the Saudi Press Agency
The ministry has instructed employers to comply with the ban ensure that their workers are not exposed to the scorching sun for three hours during the three-month ban.
Ministry’s spokesman Khaled Abal Khail announced that some regions would be exempted in view of low temperatures in those regions.
Abal Khail called on citizens to report complaints or violations to the ministry via the customer service (No.19911) or customer service Twitter account (MLSD_care).
